'Warrior' Fights Back By Jenelle Riley November 16, 2011 On Nov. 6, cast members from the fight film "Warrior" spoke at a Q&A following a screening of the film at the SAG Foundation. Oscar nominee Nick Nolte, whose performance as the alcoholic father of two sons who compete in a mixed martial arts tournament has been widely praised, revealed that he was initially hesitant to take on the role, because of the violence. Writer-director Gavin O'Connor allayed Nolte's fears by suggesting that he check out a match, and the actor now considers himself a fan. "These men are true athletes and champions," Nolte said. Also present were Frank Grillo, who plays a trainer in the film, and Jennifer Morrison, who appears as the wife of a fighter.
