National Film Registry 2011: 'Bambi,' 'Forrest Gump,' 'Silence from the Lambs' Added
Just like a existence preserver in throughout this purgatory week of news, the Library of Congress introduced its 2011 choices for that National Film Registry, which saves works due to "their long lasting significance to American Culture." One of the 25 films selected: 'Forrest Gump,' the 1994 Best Picture champion 'Silence from the Lamb,' the 1991 Best Picture champion 'Bambi,' an exciting-time Disney classic still beloved even today and 'El Mariachi,' Robert Rodriguez's 1992 micro-budget indie. Also one of the selected: Billy Wilder's 'The Lost Weekend,' 'A Cartoon Hands,' produced by future Pixar co-founder Erectile dysfunction Catmull, and 'The Iron Horse' from director John Ford. Mind to Deadline to look into the full listing of selected films. [via Deadline] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook
